Yes, my dad is not an internet marketing guy, but he is the guy that likes to play with Photoshop and every once in a while he takes a little time to create an image in Photoshop so that he can play with the effects and filters and all the stuff that comes with it.

After a while of doing just that however, he came to the idea that he would like to have a blog. As his idea matured I came in and of course helped him set up a little blog.

In this little blog he basically posted a few images and learned how to insert a little bit of text, and then he asked THE BIG QUESTION. The question was “How do these people make money online?”

Now, being the person that has been in this business nearly 10 years I decided to show him where to get his affiliate links, where to go, and we started the whole story about Link Dozer and Click Bank and all the affiliate marketing methods and all the things he would need, to do the actual affiliate marketing.

He basically got a crash course on search engine optimization and how to generate some free traffic to his blog.

Before I take you to the fact that he got some results out of everything I have shown him, let me show you the state of his blog before that. In fact his blog did not work very well at all in the beginning on this whole story.

On March 31st 2009 I decided to put Google analytics onto his blog to see what is actually happening with it. As you can tell in the image below, on the very first day of implementing the Analytics he had a whooping 7 visits to his site and as you can tell, things did not change much throughout April either.

If we look at the April statistics you will see that he never crossed 50 visitors per day to his blog. On the very best day in April he had 48 visits.

Throughout the whole month of April he had 758 unique visitors to his blog, but sadly enough he had no sales.

Seriously, take a look at the screen shot of his Click Bank account for the month of April. As you can tell, nothing happened.

Then we started going over the “crash course” on SEO and how to strategically approach promoting things online, and after using link dozer only for several days, things dramatically changed. And when I say dramatically, I mean DRAMATICALY!

1100% Increase in Traffic

Take a look at this!

Between May 1st and May 21st, he had 8,080 Absolute Unique Visitors to his little, NOT Optimized and Topically NON-Specific, little blog.

On Tuesday May 12th, he had 601 unique visitors! Now this was his best day of the month. Average number of visitors throughout the 16 day period (which you can see on the screen shot) that began about 4 to 5 days after he started using Link Dozer, was 550 visitors per day. This gave him a whopping total of 8,080 visitors for the 21 days of May!

BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, here is what happened to his Click Bank account!

Yes he had sales! $140.88 for the period between May 1st and May 16th!

Now, you may ask yourself, where are the thousands of dollars? And NO, he did not become a millionaire in May; but that is really not what is important here. I mean, how many times are you going to fall for the story of instant millions? I refuse to insult your intelligence and I know that you can tell the difference between hype and reality, so read on.. because this should get you really excited.

My dad, who saved lives being a paramedic most of his life, with no knowledge of Online Marketing, no knowledge of complex programming principles and limited understanding of SEO made money online without spending a dime on advertizing with Adwords! I am not saying that Adwords is bad, far from it. But he didn’t lose anything and neither will you.

In fact just as you should get excited so did he, and he is now snooping through ClickBank picking out the products that he is going to promote. Not only because there is a dramatic increase in traffic to his blog but because there is a dramatic change to his ClickBank account.

He now understands that if he promotes 50 to a 100 products and makes $50 to a $100 per month off of each, he will replace the need for the paycheck he is working for and he and my Mom can now dream about the boat that they would love to put in the Adriatic sea when the time comes.

I must mention one more important thing. If writing pages of content is something you are using as an excuse to not get to where you want to be in online marketing, you must know that my dad does not speak English nearly as fluently as I do. So ponder that for a while!

Now let’s go back to what interests you the most, and let’s take a look at those 8,080 unique visitors. I really need to point out something even more important.

If you take the calculator and multiply these 8,080 visitors with an unrealistically low price of clicks at just 1 cent per click that you would pay in Adwords, or that he would have paid if he used Adwords, his advertizing cost would come to $80.80

8,080 * $0.01 = $80.80

If you deducted this expense from the income he made, his actual earnings would come to $60.08

$140.88 – $80.80 = $60.08

In reality, if he paid for actual Adwords traffic, these visitors would not cost him a mere 1 cent per click but closer to 7 cents per click which would in effect made him spend $565.60, which in turn would literally have lost him $424.72

$140.88 - $565.60 = – ($424.72)

Do you have $424.72 that you can just throw away into a garbage can?

I didn’t think so. Neither does he.

That is nearly half of your mortgage or rent. No one willingly loses $400 or more dollars!
